LaboratoryThe laboratory is situated on the second floor of the hospital and allows us to carry out a wide range of tests, in most cases giving us results within a few minutes. We have special veterinary machines newly updated in 2010 to test blood for biochemistry (telling us how major organs in the body are working), haematology (the levels of red and white blood cells), electrolytes (levels of salts in the blood stream) and hormone levels. We use these machines to check the health of animals before operations (pre operative blood tests), to help us make a diagnosis of disease and to help monitor the recovery of patients. The laboratory microscopes allow us to examine samples of skin, urine, faeces and blood for parasites and other abnormalities. back to facilities |
