Diagnostics and treatment roomThe diagnostic and treatment room is adjacent to the prep area. Here a range of diagnostic tests and procedures can be carried out. Endoscopy allows us to look inside the airways and gastrointestinal tract (stomach and intestine) using one of our several differently sized scopes. The scopes allow us to both see the tissue inside the pet and to take diagnostic samples of it. Endoscopy is always carried out under anaesthesia or deep sedation. Ultrasonography allows us to look inside the pet using ultrasonic waves viewed on a computer screen. Ultrasound is especially used for heart disease and our ultrasound machine allows us to visualise blood flow in the heart in colour using colour-flow dopler waves. Other machines in this area measure heart rate and rhythm (ECG) and blood pressure. back to facilities |
